Tropico de Sangre or Tropic of Blood is a film based on a true story of the Dominican Republic’s historic Mirabal sisters. Michelle Rodriguez plays the role of Minerva Mirabal.
The film also stars Juan Fernandez as Rafael Trujillo and Cesar Evora as Antonio de la Maza. The other Mirabal sisters are played by Celines Toribio as Dede Mirabal, Luchy Estevez as Patria Mirabal, and Sharlene Taule as Maria Teresa Mirabal.
