Trailer Tuesday - Bluebeard (2010)

If you're looking for something different to watch, Bluebeard (2010) would tickle your fancy. Based on the French literary folktale written by Charles Perrault called La Barbe bleue, Bluebeard (2010) is a film about a wealthy aristocrat named Bluebeard, who killed all his wives except for the last one.

Bluebeard (2010) stars Dominique Thomas as Lord Bluebeard, Lola Creton as Marie-Catherine, Daphne Baiwir, Marilou Lopes-Benites and Lola Giovannetti. The film is directed by the controversial director, Catherine Breillat (Fat Girl, The Last Mistress, Romance).

Plot synopsis
Catherine takes great pleasure in terrifying her elder sister Marie-Anne by reading her the infamous tale of "Bluebeard" until the poor girl is so frightened she bursts into tears. She also enjoys performing re-enactments of the fairy-tale in the role of Marie-Catherine, Bluebeard's last wife. Although all of Bluebeard's other wives are executed, she is the only one who escapes this fate, being the virgin princess about whose death Bluebeard prevaricates. His deliberation proves to be his downfall, and so it is the virginal Catherine who winds up in possession of the monster's head, instead of the other way around.

The film opened for limited released on 26 March 2010.
